Dr. Froehlich is a board-certified dermatopathologist and serves as our laboratory medical director, providing expert oversight of all dermatopathology services and ensuring the highest standards of diagnostic accuracy and quality. With advanced training in the microscopic evaluation of skin, hair, and nail disorders, she works closely with our dermatology providers to deliver precise, timely diagnoses that guide effective, personalized treatment plans. Dr. Froehlich specializes in the identification and classification of skin cancers , including basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and melanoma, as well as the diagnosis of complex inflammatory and infectious skin diseases.
Her expertise in clinicopathologic correlation plays a critical role in early skin cancer detection, optimal surgical planning, and improved patient outcomes. Through her leadership in the laboratory and collaboration with the clinical team, Dr. Froehlich helps ensure comprehensive, evidence-based dermatologic care for every patient we serve.
Dr. Froehlich received her Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry from Southwestern University and earned her Doctor of Medicine from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, where she developed a strong foundation in diagnostic medicine and laboratory science. She went on to complete a residency in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology, followed by a highly specialized fellowship in Dermatopathology at Dartmouth–Hitchcock Medical Center, where she received advanced training in the microscopic diagnosis of skin, hair, and nail diseases and the detection of skin cancer, including melanoma, basal cell carcinoma, and squamous cell carcinoma.
Recognized for her commitment to academic medicine, Dr. Froehlich is widely respected for her extensive teaching experience, clinical innovation, and numerous research publications in dermatopathology and pathology. Her work has contributed to advancements in diagnostic accuracy, clinicopathologic correlation, and improved patient outcomes. She currently holds medical licensure in sixteen states, including Texas, reflecting her broad expertise and the high level of trust placed in her diagnostic capabilities across multiple healthcare systems.

Dr. Froehlich lives in McKinney, Texas, with her husband and children and enjoys being part of the North Texas community she serves.
