Dr. Adelanwa is a board-certified dermatopathologist, providing dermatopathology services and ensuring the highest standards of diagnostic accuracy and quality. She obtained training in the microscopic evaluation of skin, hair, and nail disorders, and works closely with our dermatology providers to deliver precise, timely diagnoses that guide effective, personalized treatment plans. Dr. Adelanwa specializes in the identification and classification of a variety of skin malignancies, as well as the diagnosis of complex inflammatory and infectious skin diseases.
Dr. Adelanwa helps ensure comprehensive, evidence-based dermatologic care for every patient we serve. She works in collaboration with the clinical team and utilizes clinicopathologic correlation to augment early skin cancer detection, optimal surgical planning, and improved patient outcomes.
Dr. Adelanwa received her Bachelor of Science degree from Shepherd University, majoring in Biological Sciences and minoring in Chemistry. She earned her Doctor of Medicine from West Virginia University, Morgantown, WV. She went on to complete a residency in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology, also at West Virginia University, followed by a highly specialized fellowship in Dermatopathology at the University of Alabama, Birmingham, where she received advanced training in the microscopic diagnosis of skin, hair, and nail diseases and the detection of skin malignancies.
Dr. Adelanwa is a member of the American Society of Dermatopathology and the College of American Pathologists.
